Back to Baton Rouge
We’re back to Baton Rouge for a bit. The days leading up to us switching spots always stress me out, but once we get on the road, it’s crazy, but all that stress just goes away. We got the cats in the cage as soon as we woke up, so that made the process less stressful as well. The drive was good, and it’s always good to be back in Louisiana to spend time with our family and friends.
My parents have a pond in their backyard, and I used to have really good luck catching fish there. I haven’t caught much of anything there in a while. I’m hoping with it being May I may be able to get some things to bite. We’ll see.
I will say, though, running in Baton Rouge is just nicer than running in Austin. At least where we live in both places. Our neighborhood in Austin isn’t particularly scenic. And, there’s definite elevation change. Nothing crazy, but enough that when you are trying to hit a faster pace you can definitely feel the difference.
Here however, we live near the LSU lakes, and well, it’s Baton Rouge. There is no real change in elevation. Overall the running here is just nicer, which is good because I really haven’t done the runs I wanted to do for the last few weeks. But I had a great 10k today, and I am looking forward to getting all my runs in this week.
